For Immediate Release
THE FIFTH ANNUAL MIAMI SCIENCE MUSEUM GALA:
"BUILDING THE FUTURE"
The Fifth Annual Miami Science Museum Gala will be held on Friday evening, February 16, 2007 at The Ritz Carlton, Key Biscayne. The event is being co-chaired by Brenda Nestor Castellano and Swanee DiMare.
This year's Gala theme, "Building the Future", spotlights the purpose for the Annual Gala: to support the planning and development of the new Science Museum in downtown Miami's soon to be "Museum Park": between the American Airlines Arena and the Carnival Center for the Performing Arts.
Miami's General Obligation Bond passage has provided $175M in funding towards our new facility in downtown "Museum Park". Capital Campaign planning is now underway to reach total project costs of $275 M. The new Museum project is moving forward from vision to reality and the forthcoming "Building the Future" Gala will honor and support this pioneering effort.
